What Is Hip Hop
Many people speculate as to the answer to the question: what is hip hop and it is interesting to note the various takes on what this very popular genre of music encompasses. Hip Hop Music is called by many names including rap music and street music but if you get to the root of the hip hop movement then hip hop is just a form of expression like any other type of music out there. This style of music has been created by black youth traditionally and from the beginning this form of artistic expression has represented the range of emotions that the black community as well as the rest of the world goes through. In this way Hip Hop is not just about struggle, triumph or being a non conformist but it encompasses all of these things and so much more which makes it so appealing to the millions (perhaps billions) of fans that listen to hip hop music every day.
In addition to this hip hop continues to evolve and incorporate a variety of different styles and cultures all around the world. This is what makes this genre of music dynamic and may be another reason that this particular art form so appealing to so many people. Many believe that Hip Hop bridges the gap between music in general and It contains elements from all different genres at times so it can be related to by almost anyone. Hip hop is a style of music that represents the voice and ideals of many different generations, originating with black youth then spanning to include all voices. It can also be seen as an outlet for those people that struggle emotionally, financially, to be heard, or to gain a certain status in life. This music brings people together to either focus on a common problem or our commonalities in general. In all hip hop encompasses so many different personalities and visions of life that it can be either predictable or unpredictable at times but in the opinion of many it is one of the most unique art forms in the world today.
